The Hong Kong Masters Athletics Club Limited can trace its origins to the inaugural Hong Kong Masters Athletics Meet held in November 2014. Initiated by a group of prominent Hong Kong athletes and officials, the aim of the competition, which has since been renamed Hong Kong Masters Athletics Championships (“HKMAC”), is to promote participation in track and field competitions among masters athletes (i.e. aged 35 and above).
To meet the growing number of local and overseas participants in the annual HKMAC, the Hong Kong Masters Athletics Club Limited was formally established to act as the organizer.
The Hong Kong Masters Athletics Club Limited, which is composed of masters athletes from different athletics clubs in Hong Kong, is committed to developing masters athletics, and promoting friendly and supportive masters competitions. In addition to organizing the annual HKMAC, the Hong Kong Masters Athletics Club Limited also helps to organize teams to participate in overseas masters athletics competitions to foster international cooperation in masters athletics.
